There are multiple locations for jails in Hennepin County. The jails are operated by the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office. Major Troy Otto is in charge of the Detention division. Maximum capacity of the Adult Corrections Facility is 755, but the jail regularly exceeds that. The two locations of Hennepin County Jail are used for pre-trial detention, while the Adult Corrections Facility is used for those serving sentences of 12 months or less.

Visitation is conducted through video, either onsite or remotely. Onsite visits are free and last 25 minutes. Inmates can have visitors once daily and up to 3 times per week. Remote visits cost $4 for 20 minutes.
